How Spirit Finds Us
What curiosities, items and activities do you feel intuitively connected to?
Spirit is a constant teacher and the ways that it reaches us can vary so much depending on who we are, where we are and what we need. Sometimes the vastness of information, tools and can be overwhelming. I created this newsletter to help simplify the process of finding your way on this journey and as a form of support as you step into what seems like uncharted territory.
While there is so much for us to learn, the truth is, there is so much wisdom already within us. It has to be earned to be unlocked and utilized properly, but nevertheless, sacred understanding and abilities already are inside of you.
For example, much of my work centers on tarot/cartomancy and ancestral guidance or what I like to call Familial Energy Work. My Grammy, who I lived with for most of my life was a palm reader and she always, always, always had a deck of cards on her nightstand. Though to my knowledge she didn’t use them for divination, this is the item I associate most with her. She played bridge with her girlfriends every month. She taught me to play solitaire as a child. It was one of her favorite pastimes.
So it makes sense that the divination tool I aligned with first was cards. Oracle cards, to be exact. I worked my way up to tarot and after my Grammy ascended, I started to use playing cards reminiscent of my matriarchal figure. I also learned about my ability to pick up on and manipulate energy with other types of cards.
Cards have always been the most powerful physical tool I used to understand energy and Spirit.
I tell this story to encourage you to think about what you feel an affinity for or are drawn to. What tugs at your Spirit?
It could be as simple as being near water, a pen and journal, plants, coins, crystals…Maybe you don’t feel drawn to any tangible thing as much as you want to learn more about astrology. Or you feel that singing or dancing connects you to Spirit. Maybe when you draw or sew, you feel the most aligned. Perhaps it’s a calling to do birth work or study a certain religion.
Spirit is in everything. It’s everywhere. Your work is to lean in where you feel it pulling you and trust it to show you the next steps to take. As you develop an ongoing relationship to your tools and process, you learn about history, craftsmanship…You learn about yourself. And that’s what it’s really about: Returning to the truest parts of yourself. If you ask me, that’s what it means to be on a spiritual journey.
That’s Walking The Path.
Take some time to reflect on what you feel most connected to. Journaling and voice memos are helpful ways to document your journey.
Be Well and At Peace,
Kamila
