Reaching the end of this series feels a bit like graduation. After discussing the importance of knowing yourself and where you come from, accountability in navigating trauma and challenges, forgiving yourself, and trusting yourself, we have come to a point of completion. On this journey, the lessons and opportunities to grow never end. But we do experience endings and when we prioritize the aforementioned themes, we complete cycles successfully.
There will be times where you find yourself having full-circle moments and reflecting on how you got to where you are. When we find ourselves in those moments, it is important to be present. Often, we reach a stage of completion and before we can fully appreciate how far we have come, we are focused on what’s next. It’s a real shame because inner work is already something that a lot of times will not be recognized by other people. So if you don’t take the time to recognize and celebrate yourself, you miss out on this important time in the process. The peace you have worked so hard to attain, you need to give yourself the space and time to really integrate it and enjoy it. It is in these moments that you realize how powerful you are and what you are capable of.
As you take inventory of your own spirit, you have undeniable proof that you are worthy of something I talked about in February called Self-Reverence. The work you’ve done acts as a foundation for you to build upon securely because you’re reviewing how much action you’ve taken in order to be someone that you respect and revere. Someone who can be imperfect and still be loved. Someone who doesn’t avoid or hide from the truth. Someone who prioritizes taking care of themselves in a world that normalizes self-neglect and self-destruction. Meeting your own standards and respecting yourself gives you a stronger sense of self that is not reliant on external validation. These are things to be proud of and you deserve to honor yourself for getting to this point!
As you continue to flourish and access new levels of wisdom, these are the frameworks and principles that will help you embody your truth and make decisions more confidently. This is what Walking the Path is about: it’s a journey to knowing and being who you truly are. It’s the process of encountering life and integrating what makes you more of who you are and discarding what clashes with that. It’s seeing yourself clearly and genuinely loving who you see.
The Next Chapter
Thank you for taking this journey with me and seeing the value in my words. I hope this series has been helpful as you build a better relationship with yourself. Now that this series is completed, I will be focusing on generational healing and Familial Energy Work. Familial Energy Work is a term I created in 2020. It’s energy work that focuses on family connections and their relation to spiritual development. From honoring the ancestors, to examining relationships with living blood relatives and found family, Familial Energy Work is essential for many of us in our spiritual walk and doing our part in elevating our lineage.
I created the Building a Better Relationship With Yourself series first because I believe it is important to be rooted in who you are before you start taking various people and spirits into account. Done correctly, you will certainly be transformed by this work in a positive way. But a strong sense of self will be helpful as you encounter topics and experiences that are deeply personal, emotional, generational and sometimes triggering. It will be important to know how to ground, center, and find your way back to yourself at times when the work is not easy.
